Bon Marché employees were brought down from Seattle via steamship for grand parties at Faraway. The ride took 3 hours, but I am sure it was worth the trip because once here they were treated to plentiful food & drink, live music and dancing, and they were able to play games such as tennis - yes there was a tennis court - and badminton. We have many photos of swimming competitions, sailboat races and guests diving off the diving board into the bay, or sunbathing on the big sandy beaches in modest wool swimsuits that were typical for the turn of the century.
